Asheville, NC based producer, mixer, and engineer Alex Farrar hails from Richmond, VA. Originally moving to Asheville to study audio technology at UNC Asheville, Alex put down roots in the local creative community, co-owning and operating Drop of Sun Studios in West Asheville.
As Alex honed his skills, he became the go-to engineer and mixer for the burgeoning North Carolina creative scene in the late twenty-teens. Recording or mixing for Nathaniel Rateliff, Suki Waterhouse, Hurray for the Riff Raff and many others his reputation spread.
With Covid waning in 2021, Alex’s profile grew with production credits on records from Angel Olsen and Indigo De Souza to album mixes for Snail Mail, Waxahatchee and others. In 2022, he once again takes a step forward with buzzing releases from Wednesday, MJ Lenderman, Fenne Lily, Archers of Loaf and a new album from Indigo De Souza.
