MARCUS PAQUIN

Producer/writer/multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, drums and keyboards) Marcus Paquin signed to Last Gang Records early on as primary writer and vocalist for Silver Starling. After retiring the band name, Marcus focused on recording projects. He has produced and engineered dozens of records including the Grammy award winning album The Suburbs by Arcade Fire and Grammy nominated album Trouble Will Find Me by The National. Other credits include Stars, Raine Maida, Local Natives, Tim Baker, The Barr Brothers, Timber Timbre, Sarah Harmer, Reuben And The Dark, and more.

Marcus received his Bachelors degree in jazz performance and Masters degree in recording from McGill University in Montreal where he is based. As producer, Marcus often takes on the role of musician, musical director and arranger. His performances can be heard all over the records he works on and his string arrangements appear on albums by Joe Bel, Sarah MacDougall and Tim Baker. With his signing to Arts & Crafts Music, Marcus has expanded his focus to co-writing. Having written critically acclaimed songs with artists including Begonia, Hawksley Workman and Little Scream (he remains an active member, composing and touring, of Little Scream), Marcus hopes to expand his writing into a wide range of musical styles and film scoring in the coming years.
